Vidyakul has raised $500K in a seed-funding round led by JITO Angel Network along with participation from SOSV and We Founder Circle. The company will use the funding to create academic and educational content for Gujarat and Hindi state board students. The platform offers live lectures and pre-recorded courses for Classes 9 to12 in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and the much-used hybrid of Hindi and English called Hinglish to help state board students learn in their own language.
In the lockdown, ed-tech start-ups have boomed and are trying to provide in-the-classroom experience to their students. In line with this agenda, Vidyakul provides a one-stop destination for all their needs related to notes, books, state board exam preparation, etc. Branding itself as “Bharat ka Online School”, Vidyakul is one of the largest players focused on the regional market in their field. The platform works on the model of learning and chatting with expert faculties in an interactive live classroom setup with a limited number of student attendees while getting their doubts cleared instantly during class time itself.
Jain International Trade Organisation, popularly called JITO Angel Network, is a global organization providing investment to early-stage start-ups.
