Experts Look Up To ‘Influencer Marketing’ As Key Tool For Post COVID Businesses

Entrepreneurs discusses the rising role of digital platforms and technologies for businesses in the times of COVID, at BW Disrupt 30 Under 30 Summit and Awards.

The Coronavirus pandemic has thrown the worldwide economic activities into an unprecedented spiral. However, several businesses are taking the online mode to get back on track. As an outcome, there has been a significant growth in the demand for long-term digitally-driven solutions. We are left with a thought-provoking question – has the COVID-19 outbreak triggered a Digital Revolution 2.0? To delve deeper into this subject, industry experts gathered at BW Disrupt 30 Under 30 Summit and Awards, organized by BW Businessworld.

The eminent panellists for the session titled, ‘Innovation And Technology: COVID and the Second Digital Revolution’ were: Divij Bajaj, CEO & Founder, Aesthetic Nutrition; Rohit Shah, CEO, Hemp Horizons and Siddharth Maheshwari, Founder, Newton School. The panel was moderated by Dr Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-chief BW Businessworld.

Speaking about the ways in which health, immunity and technology have come together to make a difference to people’s lives, Divij Bajaj, CEO & Founder, Aesthetic Nutrition, stated, “Influencer marketing is going to become a hard-core tool for everything that we do and that is exactly the technology that is riding health now. Today, organically we want to search and know what kind of vitamin is doing what; that amplifies when we add it to influencer marketing. We have nice avenues on social media through which we can spread the message about a product in an interesting manner.”

Elaborating on how technology accelerated their venture, Rohit Shah, CEO, Hemp Horizons, said, “For us there is two way growth here, one is about breaking the stigma and bringing the awareness and there is no better place than digital. Instagram and influencer marketing has been a key tool for us. The other phase of development that happens on the technology side for us is definitely the supply chain management. Apart from that, how a person is using these products because there is no problem in pan

India delivery of the product but it’s about the awareness and how to use the products which for us reaching the mass audience definitely happens digitally.”

Siddharth Maheshwari, Founder, Newton School, highlighted the impact of EduTech platforms on people’s lives. “EdTechs are bringing a lot of quality on the table and technology is playing a very vital role in this on two fronts. Firstly, it is allowing students to have access to quality education sitting anywhere and in a cheaper fashion. Secondly, because everything is online, it is also enabling creation of part-time teachers and thus what is happening is a lot of good people who are otherwise in their industry or have a day job can also become teacher, earn money and impart education to students all over. So that is the kind of disruption, technology is bringing in education sector,” asserted Siddharth.
