GamingMonk Acquired By Mobile Premier League

This acquisition will allow MPL to accelerate, bringing to market key tournaments locally and internationally, and allow it to develop a full scale of broadcasting capabilities. Presently, GamingMonk had a registered base of over 1.3 million users.

Esports platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has acquired GamingMonk for an amount yet to be disclosed, along with their entire team. GamingMonk provides a platform for online tournaments which are gadget friendly and can be accessed on mobile phones, PC, and consoles. It serves as a community for gamers and a launchpad for publishers, creating an online platform for the gaming community. 

This acquisition will allow MPL to accelerate, bringing to market key tournaments locally and internationally, and allow it to develop a full scale of broadcasting capabilities. Presently,  GamingMonk had a registered base of over 1.3 million users.

MPL has also launched Esports Arena, which will host fortnightly esports tournaments in some of its popular games such as pool, chess, WCC, etc. Each of these tournaments will be free for all gamers, carrying a cash prize of INR 10 lakh. The platforms will also stream the games on their social media platforms. MPL also aims to take online gaming to the masses, with gaming titles that are smartphone friendly. The number of live stream views has crossed 5 million, In four such tournaments conducted for games such as pool, chess, and WCC, with over 70,000 participants registering for the tournaments. Vidit Gujrathi, the chess grandmaster along with other famous gamers and streamers have been a part of these tournaments.
