Pratilipi Acquires The Write Order Publishing House

This new round of funding will assist Pratilipi to strengthen its IP acquisition and development across various formats including audiobooks, podcasts, comics, web series, movies, and games, etc

Pratilipi is India’s largest storytelling community of readers and writers, with 3,60,000 writers and over 25 million monthly readers across 12 Indian languages. It has recently raised $48 million (Rs. 357 Crores) in a funding round led by gaming giant Krafton Inc. This new round of funding will assist Pratilipi to strengthen its IP acquisition and development across various formats including audiobooks, podcasts, comics, web series, movies, and games, etc.

The Bengaluru-based startup is a digital literature platform that has provided a platform for novice and established writers to hone their writing skills. Over the years, Pratilipi has broadened its reach across numerous categories, having developed in-house web series and audiobooks with their Comics and FM offerings having 850,000 and 300,000 monthly active users. As a part of their ongoing extensions, Pratilipi is delighted to announce the acquisition of the largest anthologies publishers of India – The Write Order which will further offer a fully functional publishing arm. In the last few years, Pratilipi has launched several verticals within the brand, including — Pratilipi Comics, and Pratilipi FM along with the acquisition of IVM Podcasts further amplifying Pratilipi’s visibility in the storytelling space. Since the acquisition, The Write Order has witnessed 10 fold growth in revenue and 500 fold increase in author acquisition along with Pratilipi having published 7 Hindi and 6 Gujarati books – all of which are available on Amazon and through offline distributors.
