Sense Raises $16M Led By Avataar Ventures

After this round of funding, Sense will expand its footprint in India with the addition of new members to its leadership team. Nishant Rao, Founder of Avataar Venture Partners, will join their board, and Sanjay Dharmani will join as Managing Director, Sense India.

Talent management start-up Sense has raised $16 Million in a Series C round led by Avataar Ventures. This round saw participation from some of its existing investors like Google Ventures and Accel Partners. After this round of funding, Sense will expand its footprint in India with the addition of new members to its leadership team. Nishant Rao, Founder of Avataar Venture Partners, will join their board, and Sanjay Dharmani will join as Managing Director, Sense India.

The San Francisco-based platform, Sense was founded in 2015 by Pankaj Jindal and Anil Dharni. Both individuals come with deep expertise in software and staffing. Sense is an enterprise-ready solution that provides a system of engagement for talent acquisition teams.

The pandemic had negatively impacted the hospitality and travel industry, in contrast to healthcare and e-commerce where the demand for people grew. Talent management firms like Sense had to reboot themselves accordingly to cater to the new changes.  The start-up has doubled its revenue and employee workforce during the lockdown.
