Mumbai-based health-tech start-up Truemeds has raised $5 million in a Series A funding round from InfoEdge Ventures, which is an existing investor, as well as Indian Angel Network Fund, and Asha Impact. Commenting on the announcement Akshat Nayyar, Co-founder & CEO of Truemeds said “Truemeds was founded with a mission to make medicine affordable for chronic patients. For us, it wasn’t just about providing the best value alternate brands, it was about changing the paradigm of the doctor-patient relationship. Covid 19 has shown the country how important it is to make medicines affordable and accessible. With this investment, we’ll be able to not only make the Truemeds experience even more seamless but also bring access to affordable medicines to more people in different parts of India.”
In addition to its existence in Mumbai, the platform will use the funds to develop fulfillment centers, develop technologies, and automate their supply chain in three new cities, build technology, and automate their supply chains.
