KnowledgeHut, Bangalore-based technology skilling provider and a part of Asia’s Higher Edtech major, upGrad, today announced the launch of its outcome-based Full-Stack Developer (FSD) program to equip learners keen on pursuing careers in software development, with the required training, where learners pay only after they get a job.
With the conviction that anybody can code, KnowledgeHut’s Full-Stack Development Bootcamp is a 3–6-months high-intensity course offers learners the opportunity to become successful software developers by understanding the most in-demand coding languages to kick-start their career at no upfront fee. The courses also comes with Agile and Scrum training, career planning & coaching, and interview preparation.
Towards building a career in software development, learners have the flexibility to choose a course based on their schedule (weekdays, weekends etc.) and defer paying any fee for the duration of the program. They only pay a percentage of their post-bootcamp income on a monthly basis, once they get a job. In fact, successful learners pay absolutely nothing until they get placed successfully in a job that pays a minimum of INR 5 lac per annum. If the learner does not get placed within a 12-month period of completing the course, then the fee is waived off.
The eligibility criteria to enroll for the program is Standard XII, anywhere in the country. KnowledgeHut will also be rolling out this program across international markets soon. Apart from financial constraints, the program is also designed to overcome the hurdle of access, especially in regional parts of the country.
“The demand for high- end technology skills is growing at a phenomenal rate. With this program, our aim is to overcome challenges like access to quality, career-focused training as well as social and financial barriers being faced by many across the country. The new course is a testament to the strong capability and in-depth experience that we bring to the table. It is a showcase of our commitment and focus on providing quality skills that are in demand and in tune with evolving technologies being implemented across industries,” said, Subramanyam Reddy, CEO & Founder, upGrad KnowledgeHut.
“Through this offering, we aim to unearth the hidden gems among the learner community and give them the platform that they need to succeed and become partners in their success. I am confident that this new ‘Study Now, Pay Later’ program will have a significant impact and is in line with the honourable Prime Minister’s vision of making India the skilling capital of the world,” Mr. Reddy added.
The new program is part of an aggressive expansion plan being rolled out by KnowledgeHut after being acquired by EdTech major UpGrad in August.
In India, more than a million engineers graduate annually and there are an even higher number of non-engineering graduates. However, their employability or job-readiness is extremely poor and less than 20% get high quality jobs in the technology sector. India has a huge advantage in the fact that it has the largest working population in the world. However, this huge employability gap must be addressed if the country is to take maximum advantage of this population dividend.
KnowledgeHut’s ’Study Now, Pay Later’ program is immediately available to learners enrolling in its December, 2021 cohorts.
