My name is Dinesh Shinde, and I live in Mumbai. I was working as a network engineer as I completed CCNP certification.
I was trying to clear the UPSC exam to join civil services but failed to clear it. So I decided to join the Data Science field as it is a sunrise sector in the IT industry.
The biggest challenge is which institute is trustworthy to deliver the proper knowledge and skill. I checked some institutes’ customer ratings on public forums, and then I saw that Great Learning had higher ratings than other institutes. Mentored learning sessions were amazing as they provided real-life scenarios experience, which is useful for me to get ideas about professional growth.
The quality of live sessions and pre-recorded sessions are really good as I am from a non-coder background. I thought it would be very difficult for me, but every module videos start with basic concepts and gradually increase the difficulty level.
My mentor was Prabhu Ram sir, who is really well talented and very punctual about time. His knowledge in Data Science is outstanding, and because of him, my interest in Data Science is intact until the course ends. In data science, there are many skill sets, and this can open many doors to different fields like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data analytics which now can have big opportunities for me.
My advice for people who are specifically trying to learn data analytics would be to first prepare yourself for a roller coaster ride as it’s not simple as it seems. And choose the education institute wisely as many institutes advertise themselves as masters of data science, but they are not so good. Go to public forums to get the ratings of those institutes.
