Punjabi actor Aman Dhaliwal, former Shiromani Akali Dal member’s son, attacked in US gym

New Delhi: Aman Dhaliwal, a Punjabi actor, allegedly suffered an attack in America while working out at a gym. A CCTV camera recorded the incident. The motive of the attack is unknown.

Aman Dhaliwal is the son of Mithu Singh Kahneke, a Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member from Mansa and a former Shiromani Akali Dal member.

Dhaliwal was attacked by a man when he was exercising in Grand Oaks, California’s Planet Fitness, a North American gym. Media reports claim that the attacker intimidated the other gym patrons while brandishing a knife, leaving Aman with numerous wounds and scars all over his torso. Aman is currently receiving medical attention. The incident occurred around 9:20 am on Thursday. Police are investigating the matter and details are awaited, according to reports.

In videos that are now viral, the attacker is seen in the footage wearing a blue sweatshirt, holding the actor’s arm, and brandishing a tomahawk – a type of single-handed axe – while yelling for water. Dhaliwal is then seen tackling the attacker to the ground.

The actor primarily performs in Punjabi movies and has appeared in numerous Punjabi films. He also has appearances in Jodha Akbar, Big Brother, and a few other TV shows.

The attacker has been identified as Ronald Chand, a 30-year-old Santa Ana resident, ANI reported. In the attack, Chand too had minor injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He was then sent to the Robert Presley Correctional Center after being detained for attempted murder. His bail has reportedly been set at $1 million.
