Day 1: September 14, Saturday, 6.30-8.30 pm

  • Essentials of a valid contract
  • Skeleton of a contract
  • Substance and style of a contract
  • Pre-contractual instruments
  • How to draft the Title and Preamble
  • How to draft the Description of Parties clause
  • How to draft the Recitals clause
  • How to draft the Definition and Interpretation clause
  • Hands-on practical exercises

Day 2: September 15, Sunday, 6.30-8.30 pm

  • Brief revision of the second session
  • How to draft Operative clauses like Indemnity, Conditions Precedent and Conditions Subsequent, Representations and Warranties, Termination, Dispute Resolution, Confidentiality, Intellectual Property, etc.
  • Hands-on practical exercises

Day 3: September 16, Monday, 6.30-8.30 pm

  • Brief revision of the third session
  • How to draft Boilerplate clauses like Waiver, Severability, Time is of the Essence, Force Majeure, Notice, etc.
  • Hands-on practical exercises

Day 4: September 17, Tuesday, 6.30-8.30 pm

  • Brief revision of the fourth session
  • Execution Formalities of a contract
  • Career guidance on ‘How to monetize your contract drafting skills’

Day 5: September 18, Wednesday, 6.30-8.30 pm

  • Brief revision of the fifth session
  • Contract Lab: Learners will be divided into groups of 5 or 6 on Zoom. Each group will collaboratively draft clauses, and the faculty will provide personalized feedback to each team.

Meet your Faculty

Akanksha Mishra is the CEO of Lawctopus Law School, where she has taught contract drafting & negotiation course to 2200+ learners and has received an average rating of 96.5/100.

Akanksha is an independent litigator with diverse experience in commercial and real estate litigation. She is currently practising at the Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench.

She has also been the corporate counsel for many start-ups, media companies, software developer companies, and PSUs like Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), MyCaptain, Mastersoft ERP Solutions, etc., where she has drafted and reviewed multiple contracts.

Akanksha graduated from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in 2018 and completed her LLM in Constitutional Law from Nagpur University in 2021, where she achieved the top rank and was awarded a gold medal. She has also been recognized as one of BW Legal World’s 30 under 30 winners.
