8th National CIPR Essay Writing Competition by CIPR, NUALS [No fee; Cash prize worth Rs. 18k]: Submit by July 20

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, NUALS is organizing the VIIIth National CIPR Essay Writing Competition.

About NUALS

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies is a public law school and a National Law University located in Kochi, India. It is the first and only National Law University in the State of Kerala and one of the 25 NLUs in India. Admissions to the university are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test.

About the CIPR

The IP Site is a leading Intellectual Property Law blog, founded as an initiative of the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR) of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS).

Established in 2016, The IP Site is dedicated to the publication of original articles, essays, and other similar resources on developments in Intellectual Property Law, to encourage and stimulate the awareness and importance of the same.

About the Event

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, National University of Advanced Legal Studies is organizing the VIIIth edition of its National Essay Competition.

The event aims to foster interest and award excellent research in the field of IP, it seeks to further encourage discourse on contemporary topics related to the subject, its increased importance in a developing world, and at the same time, its relationship with equity and public welfare.

Topic

Intellectual Property as an Instrument for Inclusiveness and Empowerment: Promise and Possibility.

Who is it for?

Undergraduate/Postgraduate students enrolled in any recognised programme/course in any recognised university in the country.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The submission must be word-processed and the font to be used is Times New Roman/ Garamond.
  • The main text should be in font size 12 and the footnotes in font size 10.
  • A one-line gap must be maintained between all paragraphs and headings.
  • All citations must be made in the OSCOLA 4th edition format.

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: July 20, 2023.
  • Notification of prize winners: August 15, 2023.

Prizes

  • First Prize: Rs. 10,000/-
  • Second Prize: Rs. 5,000/-
  • Third Prize: Rs. 3,000/-
