About Abhigyaan Lecture Series

Under the aegis of Abhigyaan, DDS organizes a series of lectures on several academic topics delivered by the most distinguished and renowned experts in the field. It acts as a medium where students, teachers and other engage with luminaries of their respected fields and enrich themselves with extensive knowledge of these experts.

Padma Bhushan Professor Ved P. Nanda will be delivering the lecture in this session of Abhigyaan.

About the Speaker

The event will be graced by the presence of Padma Bhushan Professor Ved P. Nanda.

He is a John Evans Distinguished University Professor along with being Thompson G. Marsh Professor of Law, University of Denver.

He also holds some key positions like being the Honorary President of the World Jurist Association, President of World Association of Law Professors, Director of American Society of Comparative Law, and Honorary Vice-President of International Law Association (American Branch).

He is also the proud recipient of 

  • Padma Bhushan
  • Louis B. Sohn Award for Public International Law from the American Bar Association
  • Gandhi, King, Ikeda Award for Community Peace Building
  • “World Legal Scholar” Award by the World Jurist Association
  • United Nations Association Human Rights Award
  • Hiroshima Peace Award

Eligibility

Everyone who is associated with the legal fraternity or is a law student and has interest in legal field is eligible to join this Lecture Series.

The event will be hosted on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 4 PM IST onwards.
