The Court directed the State government to file applications for withdrawal of prosecution in those pending cases that have already been agreed to be withdrawn as recommended by the committee, within two weeks.
The Bench also requested the concerned courts who were to consider the withdrawal applications to give priority to such cases and to dispose of the same within two weeks from their date of filing.
As for cases that the committee had decided to withdraw, the State was asked to submit a report on the pending cases by June 15, after which the Court will pass further directions.
“It is made clear that the process of implementing the resolutions shall not be stopped by the committee and shall take prompt action in right perspective at the earliest during the pendency of this petition” the Bench ordered.
