An advocate mentioned the plea before a bench of Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya this morning.
The Court was informed that the matter was placed as item number 660 in the monthly list of the Court’s board.
The lawyer further claimed that certain interesting facts have come to light after the Income Tax authorities filed their response in the matter.
“This matter pertains to the disproportionate assets of the relatives of sitting CM of this State. On an earlier ocassion, the court had asked the Income Tax Department to file its response. The affidavit filed by the IT department shows interesting facts,” the advocate told the bench while praying for an urgent hearing.
The bench, however, refused to grant urgency and said it will hear the matter in due course.
“It can wait. Let us hear other cases and make some progress (in the list). We will hear it in due course,” the Court told the counsel.
