ITLJ is organizing an Essay Writing Competition in collaboration with Economic Law Partners based on International Trade and Economic Law.
About the University
National Law Institute University Bhopal (NLIU Bhopal) is a public law school and a National Law University located in Bhopal, India. Established in 1997 by the State of Madhya Pradesh, it is the second law school established under the National Law School system. In 2022, it was ranked third among law colleges in India by India Today.
The university launched its first academic program in 1998, with Indian jurist V.S. Rekhi as the Director.
About the Competition
This Essay Competition thrives to present an opportunity for legal minds to engage with the intricate dimensions of international trade law. This competition aims to encourage critical thinking, innovative analysis, and scholarly exploration of the challenges and prospects within the field of international trade law.
Eligibility
Law students currently enrolled in their undergraduate or LLM degrees (or equivalent) to submit their essays and contribute to the discourse on international trade law. Essays should have the potential to shape legal perspectives, influence policy decisions, and contribute to the evolution of international trade law.
Theme
International Trade Law including allied fields such as international investment law, international business law international competition law, etc. The Competition would prefer Essay entries about the Global South and India from an intersectional lens.

First prize:

- Publication of the article in Volume III of the NLIU-International Trade Law Journal

Submission Guidelines
- Word Limit: 2000-4000 words ( excluding footnotes ).
- Individual Attachments: Name; contact details; current academic status ( year of study, name of university, etc. ); undertaking as to guarantee of originality.
- Font and size for content: Times New Roman, Size: 12
- Font and size for footnotes: Times New Roman, Size: 10
- Paper Size: A4
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margin: 1” from all sides
- Alignment: Justified
- Citation Style: Footnotes must be properly cited strictly in accordance with the latest OSCOLA (4th edition) format.
- No endnotes or speaking footnotes (descriptive footnotes ) are permitted. Any graphs, pictures, or tables used by the author ( s ) must be mailed as a separate attachment in high-quality.
