About Centre for Advance Training in Taxation Laws

The Centre for Advanced Training in Taxation laws is established at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai with the objective to advance Studies and Research in the area of Taxation.

The Centre has the vision to foster and promote a thorough understanding of the Indian Tax System, tax policies and laws and their implication for domestic and International Business Practices. Taxes in India are levied by the State and Central Governments.

The Centre for Advanced Training in Taxation Laws is excited to announce its upcoming Tax Law Conference, which will be held on the 22nd of April virtually. The conference aims to provide a platform for tax professionals, students, and enthusiasts to come together and discuss the latest developments and trends in the field of taxation.

The first phase of the conference will begin with the keynote address by renowned tax experts to set the tone for the rest of the conference. The second phase of the conference will focus on research paper
presentations by scholars and students. This will be an excellent opportunity for young researchers to showcase their work and receive feedback from their peers and senior researchers.

About Call for Papers

Submissions in form of Articles, Cases and Legislative Commentaries are invited for the Paper-presentation session at the Conference. Interested candidates would be required to submit an abstract & register, once the abstract is approved the presentation details will be shared and the manuscript can be submitted.

The submitted manuscript will be evaluated based on relevance to the theme of the e-Conference, originality of the research paper, policy significance and engagement with the broader research area of the Centre. The papers may be theoretical, applied, or policy-oriented.

The best presenters would be awarded with prizes, and every participant would be awarded the E-certificate of participation by the Centre.

  • Exemptions, deductions and rate structures
  • Taxation and Constitutionalism
  • Basic concepts of income taxation in India & Salary income
  • Income from house property, business income, capital gains & income from other sources
  • Fundamentals of GST in the contemporary era
  • International Taxation patterns
  • Taxation of cross-border transactions
  • Tax planning, avoidance and evasion
  • Impact of Section 115BAC on Taxation system or policies.

Please note that the list of sub-themes is merely suggestive and non-exhaustive in nature. The authors can choose to submit manuscripts on other relevant and contemporary topics.

How to Register?

The registration can be done by filling out the Google Form attached with the link provided below, and by submitting the Abstract.

Note: Prior registration is mandatory for paper presenters as well as participants of the conference. The link to join the virtual conference will be shared prior to the Conference date.
