CMC Vellore ragging case: Madras High Court records safety measures deployed by college, closes suo motu case

In its status report, CMC authorities told the Court that they had increased the number of CCTV cameras installed across the college campus. 

The report also said that full-time wardens had been appointed, and security personnel were deployed to take rounds of the college campus 24×7 to prevent any untoward incidents.

The college authorities also submitted that the anti-ragging squad members were henceforth required to inspect the college and hostel premises through the day and make entries in a register detailing the time and duration of their inspection rounds.

An external monitoring committee consisting of members of civil society from outside the college had been constituted to conduct periodic inspections at the college and hostel premises, it was submitted.
