The petition has been filed by Ankur Gupta through advocates MS Khan and Attifa Atiq and was argued by Senior Advocate Salman Khurshid.
It alleged that various banks advanced money to people and entities without proper scrutiny, security and collateral and since banks deal with public money, the loans which have gone bad concern the public at large.
The petitioner, therefore, sought action against banks and officials who are responsible for the loss of thousands of crores belonging to the public.
