GNLU is hosting its 2023 Edition of Model United Nations on 7th 8th and 9th April and inviting registrations for the same!
About GNLU
The Gujarat National Law University, established in Koba, Gandhinagar, is one of the leading institutes of law and Top tier law school in the country . At GNLU we aim to to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and legal processes and their role in national development.
About GNLU MUN 2023
The GNLU Model United Nations Society was founded in March 2015 with an aim to promote and foster a MUN culture, which would facilitate debate and deliberation over key international law and political issues.
This is facilitated through intra MUNs held every semester, and to further this aim, the society is working to host a national level intercollege and school level MUN which would draw experienced delegates and MUN enthusiasts from across the country to actively debate on pertinent issues, learn the nuances of diplomacy and establish MUNs as an important tool for awareness and conflict resolution.
Committees & Agendas
1. United Nations Security Council [UNSC]: Discussing potential structural reforms within the UNSC;
2. United Nations Economic and Social Council [ECOSOC]: Addressing the possibility of global economic recession in the context of the Ukraine conflict and the ensuing energy crisis.
3. United Nations General Assembly Special Political and Decolonization Committee [SPECPOL]: Discussing the status of Non-Self Governing Territories.
4. International Press: Reporter, Photographer & Caricaturist.
Fee
The fee structure shall be as follows:
- Without Accommodation: 1500 Rupees (Includes meals, conference materials & delegate kits )
- With Accommodation: 2500 Rupees
Prizes
- The Prize Pool Split for the conference shall be as follows:
- Best Delegate – Rs. 12,000
- High Commendation – Rs. 8,000
- Special Mention – Rs. 3,000
- For the 1st time in the history of the Western Circuit, they shall also be issuing a ‘Spirit of the Conference’ Award to novice delegates who overcome their lack of experience and demonstrate their potential as diplomats.
