NLUO’s World IP Day Online Commemoration Session [April 26, 9 AM]

The Intellectual Property Analysis and Advocacy Centre (IPAAC), National Law University Odisha is organising an online commemoration session on IP for World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, 2022 at 9 A.M. IST .

About the Program

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated each year for the sustenance and furtherance of Intellectual property rights awareness and developments.

As a center immensely involved in the periphery and integrity of intellectual property discourse, the session, is designed to commemorate the same, with esteemed resource persons invited to give addresses on crucial issues on Intellectual Property Rights in the world. 

This year’s theme for the globally celebrated day is IP for a Better Future: Young Innovator“.We hope thus that the program encourages the spirit of this years theme of the day, and increases participants ability to exercise their knowledge of Intellectual Property as well as also ascertain and learn from the session.

About the Speakers

  • Mr. Raghavender G.R, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India.

Mr. Raghavender is a civil servant from Central Secretariat Service (CSS) 1988 and is currently posted as Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, New Delhi.

Previously, he was the Joint Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, from August 2015 to January 2017. He has also held additional charge of the Director-General, National Productivity Council (NPC) from November 2015 to May 2016.

Mr. Raghavender is very passionate about Intellectual Property Rights, especially Copyright and Related Rights. He worked as Registrar of Copyrights of the Indian Copyright Office from 2007 to 2014 and played a key role in the introduction of amendments to the Copyright Act in 2012 and the introduction of the Copyright Rules, 2013.
