Prayagraj, Apr 1 (PTI) A fire broke out on Saturday in the Nehru complex at Ghantaghar of Chowk area here, fire officials said.
The fire was extinguished by 1.00 pm after a four-and-half hour-long operation, they said.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rajiv Kumar Pandey said that the department got information about the fire in the Nehru complex at around 8.30 am, after which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
In the course of the day, around 20 fire tenders, a hydraulic machine, and 100 firefighters were called from across the district to douse the fire.
Pandey said there were 210 shops in the complex on three floors, and 30 of them were affected by the fire.
“Prima facie, short circuit seems to be the reason behind fire. No loss of lives has taken place in the incident,” Pandey said. PTI RAJ NAV VN VN
