Top 3 lowest team totals in the tournament history

Indian Premier League (IPL) is a tournament where one sees players and the teams making and breaking  many records. There are many records in the history of the tournament that are still unbeaten. Talking about the records, there are also some of records that no team wants to hold with them.

While cricket fans keenly look forward to reading and leaning about cricket news, in this article, we will be mentioning the Top 3 lowest team totals in the history of IPL.

Delhi Capitals (66 vs MI)

In a league match of the 2017 season, the eventual champions Mumbai Indians completely outplayed Delhi Capitals in both batting and bowling as they defeated the northern side by 146 runs. MI made a mammoth total of 212 runs for 6 wickets including half centuries from both Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard. Coming to chase, DC started losing wickets from the very first ball of the innings and couldn’t get any chance to make a comeback. This cricket news was all over the headlines that DC got bowled out for just 66 runs in 13.4 overs.

Rajasthan Royals (58 vs RCB)

The inaugural champions of the tournament hold second place in the list. In a league match of 2009 season, Rajasthan Royals got bowled out for just 58 runs chasing 134 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. With Rahul Dravid’s 66 and skipper Kevin Peterson’s 32, RCB managed to get to a fighting total of 133 for the loss of 8 wickets. But it turned out to be too much for the defending champions as they got bowled out in the 15th over losing the match by 75 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (49 vs KKR)

It was a nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they weren’t able to cross even 50against Kolkata Knight Riders in a league match of 2017. Batting first, KKR got all out on 131 runs and it was looking a very easy target for the RCB to chase, but the KKR bowlers had other plans that night. The runners-up of the previous season started losing wickets form the first over and didn’t get even close to KKR’s total as they got bowled out for 49 runs in 9.5 overs, and went on to lose the match by 82 runs. There were memes and trolls all over the social media as RCB registered the lowest team total ever in the IPL history.
