About IRCCL
The Indian Review of Corporate and Commercial Laws (IRCCL) is a blog that publishes articles on current issues relating to corporate law, dispute resolution, trade & investment law, taxation law, labour law, competition law and insolvency & bankruptcy law. The blog aims to create a writing community, consisting of students, research scholars and practitioners, to generate debate and discussion in the areas mentioned above.

About the Competition
After organising two successful blog writing competitions in collaboration with Samvad Partners and Khaitan & Co, respectively, The Indian Review of Corporate and Commercial Laws (IRCCL) is proud to collaborate with JSA for IRCCL Blog Writing Competition 2022-23.
The third edition of the IRCCL Blog Writing Competition is being organised, in collaboration with JSA, to foster and cultivate a calibrated approach to academic research and writing.
What makes this competition particularly unique is its upper word limit of 2,500 words, through which we hope to have a premier focus on novel content.
To this effect, the themes of this edition have been designed to promote the conversation around certain key contemporary issues in the M&A and Private Equity space.
Themes
The following themes within the realm of M&A and Private Equity should guide the participants in terms of selecting an appropriate topic for the submission. Their advice would be to keep the topic as narrow as possible (and within the ambit of the relevant theme chosen from below) so that complete attention and justice can be given to a specific issue.
Note: To clarify, the themes suggested below should not be construed as topics themselves; these are broad areas within which participant(s) may choose any issue or development to write about in their blog entry.
- Freeze-Out Mergers in Indian Corporate Law
- Critical Analysis of the New Odi Regime
- Impact of Changes to the Rpt Framework on Financial Investors
- Intra Group Reorganizations: to Notify or not to Notify
Eligibility
This competition is open to all students in their 4th or 5th year (five-year course) and 2nd or 3rd year (three-year course) in any recognized university across the world.
Submission Guidelines
- The blog must be submitted in Microsoft Word document format (.doc/.docx).
- A participant can submit an entry for one theme only.
- Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted.
- The submission should be between 1,500–2,500 words.
- The blog must be written in English.

To participate in the competition, interested students must submit through the submission link provided at the end of this post.
Registration Fees
There is no registration fee for this competition.
Awards and Rewards
- First Prize – INR 10,000; Opportunity to intern with the corporate practice at JSA; Certificate of merit.
- Second Prize – INR 7,000; Opportunity to intern with the corporate practice at JSA; Certificate of merit.
- Third Prize – INR 5,000; Opportunity to intern with the corporate practice at JSA; Certificate of merit.
- Fourth – Fifth / Tenth Prize (depending on the number of submissions) will also be awarded a certificate of merit.
- Prize-winning articles will also be published on the IRCCL blog.
