About Animal Law Centre

Since its inception, the University has been home to vital conversations on law and justice. Staying in line with that NALSAR is now home to India’s first Animal Law Center in collaboration with HSI/India. The Centre creates curriculums on animal welfare laws and develops and publishes research pertaining to animal welfare issues.

It also conducts workshops on animal laws and animal welfare issues with judicial magistrates, animal welfare advocates, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders in the government.

About the Webinar

After the success of our webinar series conducted in September 2022 on the theme “Aligning Perspectives in Animal Protection and Practice” from 1st-5th September 2022, the Animal Law Centre presents its fourth webinar week titled “Understanding Different Approaches to Animal Protection from Past to Present” on March 24 and March 25.

This webinar series is meant to further the goals of the Animal Law Centre by contributing to the scholarship on the animal rights movement and to give insight through the sessions conducted that education or careers in the field of animal protection are existent, easily possible and enriching.

Our speakers are considered stalwarts in the field, with many years of experience in studying as well as practising animal protection through their extraordinary initiatives, pedagogy and authorship and well as expertise in the field.
