A Bench of Justice MR Shah and Justice Krishna Murari was pronouncing judgment in a matter under the cause title, Hemantbhai Balvantbhai Patel and Anr v State of Gujarat and Anr, when the counsel in the matter sought withdrawal of appeal.
The Bench was disappointed by the same and lamented at the falling standards at the Bar.
“This is unimaginable. You have reduced court proceedings to a mockery. This shows the standards of the Supreme Court going down. I cannot believe this. You made us believe that you can pay and now this? You cannot do this during pronouncement of judgment counsel! you can’t,” Justice Shah asked.
