How did you Apply?

I came to know about the firm from my seniors who had interned here previously. The procedure for internship application is quite simple, send your cover letter and updated CV to anwin@veritaelegal.com, after which they will schedule an interview, and the questions for the interview are mainly based on the subjects which we have learned or are learning at our law school

First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

I started the Internship on 13th December 2021, since it was my first day, I reached the office half an hour prior ( The time is from 9 am to 6 pm. However, there will be associates and partners working after office hours, and interns can also stay back to complete the work, or they can opt to go back home and work).

On the first day, I had a discussion with Anwin Sir (partner), and he briefed me about the kind of work the firm does and what I am expected to do as an intern.

The infrastructure of the office is quite decent and the entire office is airconditioned. The office has cabins for senior associates and partners, and there is a separate area where the interns are seated. Apart from that, the office is equipped with a state-of-the-art conference room, pantry etc.

Main Tasks

Even though the firm deals with all kinds of legal work, I mainly did transactional work under Anwin Sir. On the first day, I was taught by Anwin Sir how to do a trademark search and how to find a trademark status, later on, the day I was asked to make a power of attorney under section 149 and rule 19 of the Trademarks Act, 1999.

I was asked to draft a trademark infringement notice in the subsequent days. The next task given to me was to make necessary changes and amends to hostile clauses of a Share Subscription Agreement.

This task helped me understand the various nuances of an agreement and also the basic terms used in an agreement. This task was the biggest takeaway I had from this Internship. During the course of the Internship, I also got the opportunity to attend client meetings along with Anwin sir.

Further, I was asked to make trademark applications and to find case laws for contentions raised for trademark objection hearings. All the work done was reviewed by Anwin Sir and he also helped me correct my mistakes as well.

Work Environment

The working environment at Veritae was quite conducive to productive work and the partners, senior associates, and associates are ever ready to help us.

Good things

The office provides interns with light refreshments like tea, coffee and snacks during the morning and evening. The associates, Senior Associates, and Partners are ever ready to help us The location of the office is quite near to the Metro station.

Bad things

Nothing at all.
