Advocate moves Supreme Court, claims failure to declare results of 17th All India Bar Exam jeopardizing right to practice

The delay on the part of the BCI in declaring the result of 17th AIBE is unreasonable, an abuse of its powers and there is no justification for such delay, the petition states.

Due to the embargo created by the Bar Council Rules 2010, the petitioner says that she cannot file Vakalatnama in any case and cannot be engaged as counsel by a litigant, unless she clears the AIBE.

She has thus prayed for a direction to BCI to declare the results at the earliest.
