Bombay High Court asks BMC to set up grievance forum to deal with complaints on illegal animal slaughter during festivals

BMC counsel, Senior Advocate Anil Sakhare informed the Court that the policy on NOCs was revised and modified from time to time.

He stated that the issue came up every year during Bakri-Eid and that the matter was dealt with as needed, from time to time.

He apprised the Court that a public notice with toll-free numbers has been published in newspapers for lodging complaints.

Sakhare added that once complaints are received via the helpline number or through email, a specific task force would be available to address the issues reported on a 24×7 basis.
