About BECIL
Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) is a Mini Ratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) that was incorporated on 24th March 1995 under the erstwhile Companies Act, 1956 by the Government of India with 100% equity share capital of BECIL held by President of India through Secretary and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
About the Opportunity
Applications are invited for the Engagement /Hiring of services of a Legal Consultant on a contract basis in the BECIL for the period of one year.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Tender legal opinion on the issues coming before the BECIL.
- Prepare para-wise comments on all OAs Writ Petitions, SLPs, and PlLs filed against the BECIL and forward to the concerned empanelled advocate of BECIL after approval of the Competent Authority, for drafting counter affidavit.
- Scrutinise the counter affidavit received from Counsel with reference to the para-wise comments.
- Perform such other work of a legal nature as may be entrusted from time to time.
- Maintain a register of pending court cases in the BECIL.
- Monitor the pending court cases.
- To be present in the court during the hearing.
- Advise BECIL management on the legal issues in Tender bids and Contracts.
- Awareness of Government /PSU Rules & Regulations, DPE Guidelines, CVC Guidelines, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India rules and procedure
Eligibility Criteria
- Degree of L.L.B or equivalent from a recognized University and/or institute in India, or abroad, recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Qualified to be registered as an Advocate in any State Bar Council/Bar Council of India in terms of the Advocates Act, 1961.
- At least five years of experience in a Court of Law or expert in legal matters with sufficient experience working in a Government Department / PSU having handled Court Cases.
- Knowledge of company laws, tendering process, matters related to NCLT etc. is needed.
- Retired Government servants of the level of US/DS fulfilling the above criteria may also apply for the post.
Salary
The selected candidate will be paid a remuneration of Rs 60,000 per month.
