About the Organiser
The WMILAR, or the World Moot in International Law and Animal Rights, is the World’s 1st Global Moot Competition & Moot Training Courses on Animal Rights Law.
Details about the Event
The WMILAR combines traditional aspects of International Law (including, but not limited to, International Human Rights Law and International Environmental Law) with contemporary animal rights issues.
It does so through a mooting competition for law students and a two-pronged training course for law students and law teachers. These are held at the regional level in various bases worldwide, and competition winners from the regionals participate in the finals, held at the international level.

Students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate (excl. doctoral), and vocational training at a law school

Fee Details
20,000 INR per university

Legal internships with law sets/firms, senior advocates, NGOs, memberships of animal law think tanks, etc.
Deadlines for Region 6: Southern Asia
- 24 June 2024: Start of the release of the moot problem (individually and privately, upon payment of registration fees)
- 22 July 2024: Closing of registrations—announcement of participants, sponsors, scholarship winners, and release of agenda and programme
- 19 August 2024: Memorial submission deadline
- 26-28 August 2024: Training courses
- 29-30 August 2024: Regional competition rounds
- 2 September 2024: Online announcement of winners
