In his letter, Shenoy claimed that Justice Joseph has continued to visit her chambers in the High Court so that she can write judgments and backdate them.
Shenoy argued that though judges are usually permitted to continue holding on to their office for a month, that is only intended to let retired judges to clear out their personal belongings and not to carry out any pending administrative or judicial work.
This is grossly improper, he said, citing a recent case where the Supreme Court came down on a Madras High Court judge who was found to have held on to a case file for over 5 months after his retirement.
