Centre for Studies in International Trade and Investment Laws, DNLU is organizing the 1st International Conference under the aegis of WTO Chairs Programme (World Trade Organisation), in collaboration with Centre for Trade and Investment Laws, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India and Centre for International Trade Law, National Law University, Odisha between 24-25 August, 2024.

About DNLU, Jabalpur

Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (M.P.) was established in the year 2018, by Madhya Pradesh Dharmashastra National Law University Act 24 of 2018, with the object of advancing the cause of legal education and achieving excellence as a university for imparting value-based legal education to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students.

The WTO Chairs Programme, initiated by the World Trade Organization (WTO), is an academic initiative designed to advance research, education, and outreach related to international trade and the functions of the WTO.

About Centre for Trade and Investment Law, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India

CTIL was established to serve as a center for excellence in the field of international trade and investment law. It was officially inaugurated on 2016. CTIL’s establishment was a significant milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen its engagement with the global trading system and enhance its understanding of international trade and investment laws.

Submission Details

  • All papers must be written in English.
  • Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) and PDF format.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size, 1.5-spacing.
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Maximum 2 Authors are allowed.
  • No personal information should be included in the paper.
  • Abstract, not exceeding 250-300 words, should precede the main text. It  submitted as a single paragraph.
  • Include a list of 3-5 keywords below the abstract to facilitate indexing and searchability.
  • Full papers should typically range between 3,000 to 5,000 words, excluding abstract, references, and appendices.
  • Authors should follow a consistent citation style throughout the paper.
  • Authors must ensure that their papers are original and have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism above 15% would lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Authors are required to submit their abstracts and papers electronically through the designated online submission portal.
  • Authors must adhere to the deadlines mentioned.
  • Submitted abstracts will first undergo a peer-review process to evaluate their quality, relevance, and contribution to the conference theme.
  • Authors will be notified of the review outcome and acceptance status in a timely manner.

Presenter Fee

  • We are accepting abstract submissions on the rolling basis.
  • Papers presented at the conference will not be considered for publication in the edited book to be released during the conference. However, selected papers will be eligible for consideration in future publications of the CITIL.
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students (legal and non-legal): Rs. 5000/- (with accommodation) and Rs. 3000/- (without accommodation).
  • Academics, professionals, lawyers, advocates, and research scholars (legal and non-legal): Rs. 7000/- (with accommodation) and Rs. 5000/- (without accommodation).
  • DNLU and NLUO Students: Rs. 1500/- (without accommodation).
  • Please note that registration fees are payable only after your abstract is selected. You will be notified of the selection via email.
