A case was filed by Advocate Raj Gaurav against Manimekalai, arguing that in her upcoming movie, she has depicted the Hindu goddess in a very ‘uncalled for manner’ and that the poster and promotional video of the film also shows her smoking a cigarette.
The suit argued that this not only hurts the religious sentiments of common Hindus, but is also against the basic principles of morality and decency.
The alleged poster was also tweeted by Manimekalai from her Twitter handle, Gaurav said.
