A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad was hearing a 2021 petition challenging the recruitment process in the Indian Navy when Solicitor General Tushar Mehta pointed out that similar matters challenging the Agnipath scheme are already pending before the court and they should be heard together.
Mehta said that the issues in these petitions are interconnected and, therefor,e they should be taken up together.
“Learned Solicitor General has informed the court that there are some other issues touching the subject matter of the present petition. Office is directed to list the petition along with the present petition on July 20,” the Court noted in its order.
