The government’s move comes shortly after the Allahabad High Court directed the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary to ask the State Cabinet whether there was a requirement to have so many Additional Advocates General (AAGs) and Chief Standing Counsel (CSC) to defend the State before the High Court.
The Chief Secretary was asked to intimate the progress made in the matter to the Court’s Registrar General within two months from May 31.
