Yes i know i have become too lazy nowadays. Navaratri is around the corner and blog across the web is flooding with sundals and stuff like that. And i am here posting my first ever sundal recipe. How embarrasing is that. Ok but i have a cool news for you, i have 5 more sundal recipe ready to be posted for you. So keep a eye in this blog on the coming days.
Ingredients for Thenga Manga Pattani Sundal Recipe
- Dried White Peas / Vatana – 1 cup
- Raw Mango – ½ cup chopped into tiny pieces
- Coconut – ½ cup finely grated
- Onion – 1 small finely chopped
- Green Chilli – 1 finely chopped
- Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
For Seasoning:
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
- Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
How to Make Thenga Manga Pattani Sundal Recipe
- Soak peas overnight or for 8 hours and add it to pressure cooker along with some salt. Cover with water and pressure cook it for 2 whistle. Let the
steam go all by itself. Open the pressure cooker and drain them. Set aside till use. - Heat oil in a kadai. Add in the seasoning ingredients and saute for 30 sec.
- Now add in onions, green chilli and give a quick toss.
- Add in raw mango and mix once.
- Add in the cooked peas, chilli powder, salt and mix well.
- Once mixed add in coconut and mix once.
- Serve.
