About the Webinar

Non Fungible Tokens or NFTs is the most well-known and pragmatic speculation in our world today. From fashion houses like Gucci and Balenciaga to Football clubs, everyone is developing their NFTs. What are NFTs? WIPO states, “One of the most heralded uses of blockchain technology is the tokenization of assets, where a token is a programmable digital unit of value that is recorded on a digital ledger.” Think of NFTs as art that has its own unique value and acts as a digital asset. Each NFT includes a unique identifier that cannot be replaced or replicated, making NFTs ideal for establishing and tracking ownership of both natively digital and tokenized physical assets.

However, the relevance of this buzzword is also entering the legal realm. Intellectual Property rights like Copyright, Patents, and Trademarks are not new to the art space. The relevance of these IPRs also applies to NFTs. Hence, the relationship between IPR and NFTs can be challenging to understand.

What happens to the users who own the NFT? Who is protecting their IPR? What is the legal turmoil attached to these Intellectual Property Rights? Are the pre-existing laws sufficient to protect the IPR?

Well, if you have these questions, then your wait is over. Register for this webinar and feed your curiosity!

  2. Develop a fair knowledge of the role of IPR in NFTs.
