Did you all came across the review which I posted earlier about the book Gujarati Kitchen.. This recipe is from her cookbook. When I was reading that book, I came across this recipe which got my immediate attention because of its simplicity. I made this sabzi immediately and result was wow.
This subzi get its unique flavour and taste from the fresh masala which we add. Making that masala is wicked easy, it just calls for few fresh stuffs which are readily available in each and every household. You could make this masala in bulk and store it in freezer for easy access..This can be served with either rice and dal or with hot roti.
How to Make Aloo Bhindi Recipe (gujarati bhinda batata nu shak)
Gujarati Fresh Masala
Start by making Fresh masala..Grind ginger, garlic, green chilli and turmeric together to a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl and add lemon juice and oil. Mix well..This is Fresh Masala.
Making gujarati bhinda batata nu shak
Now make subzi. Heat oil and add mustard and fenugreek seeds. Add potato and ladysfinger and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Now add in chilli, coriander, turmeric and cumin powder. Toss well. Add the fresh masala and mix well.. Cover and cook for 10-15 mins. Now open the lid and cook for 5 more minutes. Serve hot with rice or roti.
