About the recipe
This is a restaurant-style milkshake made using chocolate flavours and milk and blending well with ice cubes gives a chilled drink perfect for any season. It is one of the simplest and easy recipes to make a DIY similar recipe at home.
I have tried to use similar ingredients which the restaurant uses and tried to make a replica of it at home so that it can be easily made by my readers.
There are many varieties of Starbucks drinks and frappuccino recipes and would like to share each of them as I keep updating my blog with various recipes.
Just sharing a quick copycat version of the Starbucks style drink and all the ingredients required to make the drink are easily available at home to blend and try it out.
Ingredients
milk: All the milkshake kinds of drinks need to have this essential ingredient that is milk that can be low fat or cream-based or high fat as per preference. Make sure the milk used is pasteurized.
chocolate chips: Adding chocolate flavour is an essential part of making this frappe and adding chocolate or choco chips give amazing delicious flavours.
ice cubes: To get a chilled and thick texture to the drink, ice cubes in whole form or crushed form gives a perfect blend to the frappe.
chocolate syrup: These syrups are easily available in every grocery store and adding a chocolate syrup of any brand is a personal choice but adding this syrup is necessary to make the drink. Mocha drizzle gives a good taste as well.
whipped cream: Topping with some whipped cream is what makes a frappuccino and they are incomplete without adding a generous topping of the cream and lastly pouring the chocolate syrup on top of it makes it even more appealing.
Variations
I am adding chocolate chips and syrup since it is a double chocolate-flavoured drink. The two flavours of chocolate can be avoided and any single flavour too can be preferred. Adding two flavours of chocolate gives more chocolaty flavours that are easy to consume and not strong to the taste buds.
In place of chips and syrup using chocolates or choco based ice creams too gives a delicious flavour. Since we are trying the frappe home, making it in our own way as per our flavours can be done with trial and error methods.
But, if looking forward to making exactly the way the restaurant makes then it is better to follow the recipe where I am trying to use most of the ingredients that are similarly used in the copycat version.
Step by step procedure
- add ice cubes into a blending jar.
- add chocolate chips. Add more if more flavor is preferred or reduce their quantity for less chocolaty flavor.
- add pasteurized form of milk or just boil the milk, chill it and add.
- Add any brand of chocolate syrup to the milk in blending jar.
- close the lid of the jar.
- blend everything until combined well and smooth.
- pour the frappe into a glass or small jar or any serving glass that one prefers.
- top it with frothy whipped cream or skip if not willing to consume high amount of calories.
- garnish with chocolate syrup or any mocha drizzle.
- Serve Starbucks double chocolate chip frappe chilled immediately before ice melts.

Tips
If one needs more sweet flavours and different flavours, add some sugar to give a more sweet touch to the frappe. One can even add vanilla extract to the frappe to make it more delicious.
While ordering one can ask for more pumps of mocha syrup and also can request any other syrup to be added to the frappe and the order will be ready.
Starbucks prefers to give drinks the way we order and that is the best part of their drinks and also the menu is easily given to place the order easily among so many drinks.
Adding frothy cream is the frappe speciality but if not willing to consume high calories then replace high-fat milk with low-fat milk as well as skip cream to make while making at home and keep it simple.

Since it uses lots of chocolate flavours, sometimes espressos, whole milk and many other high-calorie syrups and cannot be stated as healthy drinks. These drinks are refreshing to have once in a while to enjoy good flavours to the taste buds and to give a chilling effect to the tummy.
