3rd Lakhmi Chand National Moot Court Competition by LCIT College of Commerce and Science, Bilaspur [September 27 – 28; Cash Awards Upto Rs. 26.3k]: Register by September  10!

The Department of Legal Studies, LCIT College of Commerce and Science, is organizing the 3rd Lakhmi Chand National Moot Court Competition 2024 in offline mode from September 27th to 28th, 2024, and is accepting registrations for the same.

About the Competition

The Department of Legal Studies at LCIT College of Commerce and Science proudly announces the 3rd Lakhmi Chand National Moot Court Competition for 2024. The organisers have launched this effort intending to raise awareness in the fields of criminal law, administrative law, cyber law, competition law, constitutional law, and service law, among others.

The purpose of this year’s case is to assess the participant’s legal knowledge, research skills, and application in the area of criminal law. Participants will have the exceptional chance to join the Department of Legal Studies at LCIT College of Commerce and Science in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, to discover their hidden potential and learn the technicalities of clinical law.

It will be an offline event. We have scheduled an orientation programme for the 27th and 28th of September 2024, which will include team orientation, a drawing of lots, and the exchanging of memorials to ensure the comfort of the participating teams. During orientation, we will only assign competition team codes and sides.

Eligibility Criteria

Each team shall comprise three (3) members out of which two (2) will be speakers and one (1) researcher. An observer is allowed to be brought to the competition with a condition that he/she shall not intervene in any proceedings.

The competition is open for bonafide students pursuing 5 years and 3 years of law programs in India.

Each law college shall be eligible to send one team. Each team shall be provided with the team code. The team should not disclose the identity of their institution in the course of proceedings in the courtrooms; such disclosure shall invite penalties including disqualification.

The 3rd Lakhmi Chand National Moot Court Competition for 2024, shall be held at the Address: Moot Court Hall, Department of Legal Studies, LCIT College of Commerce and Science, Near High Court, Raipur Road, Bodri, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India

Prizes

  • Rs. 11, 000/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Winners
  • Rs. 07,100/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Runner-ups
  • Rs. 04,100/- Cash Prize and Trophy to the Best Memorial
  • Rs. 04,100/- Cash Prize and Trophy for the Best Speaker

Registration Procedure

The teams are requested to send an e-copy of the Registration Form to law@lcit.edu.in on or before September 10, 2024.

A registration fee (non-refundable) of Rs. 2100/- (Rupees Two Thousand and One Hundred Only) is to be paid by way of Online Money Transfer in favor of LCIT College of Commerce and Science. The charges for observers will be Rs. 800 (Eight Hundred only) per day.

Payment is to be done by online mode. Details are as follows:

The scanned copy of the receipt of online payment (or issues related to payment) must be submitted by email to law@lcit.edu.in

No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted after the receipt of the Registration Form, except at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

Teams should mention the participant’s name including the year/semester of study.

Soft copies for each side of Memorials must reach the organizers by 22-09-2024 (Sunday) to the Moot Court Committee at law@lcit.edu.in, and a total of 5 hard copies must be submitted to the organizers out of which 2 of each side are to be delivered by September 22, 2024.
