Are you saying Indian medicine system is inferior to allopathy? Delhi High Court

The High Court was dealing with petitions seeking a separate system of examination for admissions into these courses. Advocate Animesh Kumar told the Court that applying National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission into Indian system of medicines meant that if a person did not get 50 percentile in the test, they were not allowed admissions.

Kumar said that most of the students who score high marks opt for courses like MBBS and BDS, because of which most of the seats in institutes offering courses in Indian system of education are going vacant.

“I have data with respect to Punjab. After second round of counselling, 878 of 1,100 seats are vacant. In Haryana, 50 per cent seats are vacant,” he told the Court.
