The plea filed by lawyer Mursalin Asijit Shaikh had alleged that Justice Chandrachud had “on twelve occasions acted in wilful disregard and deliberate defiance of binding precedents of larger benches of the Supreme Court and denied justice to deserving litigants”.
The plea also alleged that Justice Chandrachud took up a case related to his son’s client and passed an ex-parte order without issuing notice to the respondents including the State government.
The second issue had already been highlighted by one RK Pathan by way of a complaint to the CJI and the President of India, the plea pointed out.
