Unitedworld School of Law is a constituent school of Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The school is duly recognized by the Bar Council of India and has been imparting high quality legal education in the state of Gujarat for more than a decade. UWSL offers an interdisciplinary law program, BB.A. LL.B. (Hons.) with specializations in IPR, Business Law, Criminal Law, International Law, LL.M. as well as doctoral programs.

About the Journal

Unitedworld Law Journal (UWLJ) is a peer-reviewed academic law journal bearing ISSN no-2457-0427 that aims at publishing high-quality original research work across a broad range of the interdisciplinary spectrum, ranging from research papers, articles, essays, book reviews, and case comments.

Theme

The theme of the UWLJ journal should be any topic of CONTEMPORARY LEGAL ISSUES. The main focus of the work should be the latest trend in the field or any issue pertaining to law which has National and International worth. These could be but not limited to the following themes-

  • Business Law,
  • Law of Contract,
  • Criminal Law,
  • Corporate Law,
  • Constitutional Law,
  • ADR,
  • Intellectual Property Law,
  • Cyber Law,
  • Environmental Law,
  • Human Rights Law and any other contemporary Legal issue.

Nature of Submission

  • Original Articles: The article should not exceed 3500-4000 words (inclusive of footnotes).
  • Case Comment: Case comments should not exceed 1500-2000 words (inclusive of footnotes).
  • Book Review: A book review should not exceed 1500-2000 words (inclusive of footnotes.

Formatting & Citation Guidelines

  • The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman- 12. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing. The manuscript should contain only footnotes (and not endnotes) as a method of citation. Citations must conform to the OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) (4th ed.) style of citation.
  • Prior to the actual submission, authors must send an abstract of not more than 500 words describing its scope on or before 25th November 2023. Abstracts must be submitted by the deadline, as only those papers selected on the basis of the abstract will be published.
  • Each abstract and submission must be accompanied by a separate document with the following details of the author: name, e-mail address, postal address, name and address of the institution, and course and academic year (if applicable). No biographical information may be mentioned within the main submission itself since it would prevent the Board from conducting an anonymous review.
  • Joint authorship is permitted, and there is a cap of a maximum 2 Co-Author on the number of authors per submission.
  • Speaking footnotes are discouraged.
  • UWLJ believes in the originality of ideas; therefore, any material submitted to the Journal will not be considered if it has been published or is under consideration elsewhere.
  • The plagiarism Percentage above 10 % is not allowed for publication in any case.
