Call for Volunteers for Project Sulabha with OutLawed India [8-Days; April 8-16]: Sign-Up Now!

OutLawed India is calling for volunteers to help create a glossary of legal terms that will be made available in multiple regional languages.

About OutLawed India

OutLawed India is a not-for-profit company that aims to bolster citizen engagement with the law through grassroots-level legal awareness and skill-building.

About the Work

Everyday, people encounter legalese that is difficult to comprehend. Apart from being complex, legal terminology, more often than not, is in English. We want to help acquaint people with terminologies that are relevant to them in a simple and accessible manner, and provide them with the option of learning it in their own regional language!

We are calling for volunteers for Project Sulabha to help create simple explanations for everyday legal terms and also aid in translating them into regional languages. We will compile the material and create glossaries in different languages that will be made freely available to anyone looking to access it.

In addition to this, we are also looking to select volunteers who can assist with translating the English explanations into various regional languages.

Volunteers will have 5-6 hours of work over the 8 days of the programme.

Perks for Volunteers

All volunteers will receive a certificate from OutLawed India on completion of the work. In addition to this, the names of the volunteers will be included in the glossary to acknowledge their contribution.

We’re also collaborating with the Awaaz Initiative from Youth Ki Awaaz, which is a collective of organisations like Bar and Bench, SCC, and Nyaaya that are aiming to increase discourse around socio-legal issues in regional languages. Your work will also be recognised by the Awaaz Initiative!
