About Call for Papers

Invitation for Research Papers and paper presentation on the Relevance of Basic Structure Doctrine in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Kesavananda Bharati Decision.

The Kesavananda Bharati decision, one of the most significant judicial dictums in the history of Indian constitutional law, brought in the concept of “basic structure” which restraints the amending power of the Indian Parliament.

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of this landmark decision, we invite submissions of research papers that explore the various aspects of the basic structure doctrine and its impact on Indian constitutional law.

Papers may also delve into the various debates and controversies surrounding the doctrine, such as its scope, limitations, and the possibility of judicial abuse of power.

This call for papers and presentations aims to provide a platform for critical analysis and discussion of the basic structure doctrine and its journey over the last 50 years.
