School Of Legal Studies And Governance of Career Point University is organizing a National Seminar on ‘Cyber Combating: Global Digital Security, Safety, And Sustainability.’

About the University

Located in the lap of nature, Career Point University was established by Government of Himachal Pradesh Act No 12 of 2012 under Sec 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956.

About the Seminar

The internet and the number of Internet users have grown quicker than anyone ever imagined. As people continue to venture into cyberspace and conduct more of their professional activities online, this has created vast opportunities for cybercrime. These offences are comprised of new types of crimes and new methods of committing traditional crimes such as identity theft, property crimes, and fraud.

The depth of cyberspace allows terrorist organizations to recruit, plan, organize, fundraise, and spread their message through propaganda and other digital means. Millions of people across the globe are affected by online crime every day. Cybercrime has become one of the most threatening and challenging problems for law enforcement, the judicial system and the public.

This seminar, Cyber Combating: Global Digital Security, Safety and Sustainability, is an important contribution to the global effort for safe, secure and equitable digital space. It focuses on building the human capacity of policy-makers, legislators, judges, lawyers, prosecutors, investigators and civil society on the various legal issues that comprise the fight against cybercrime.
