CfP: National Seminar on New Dimensions and Challenges for Human Rights by RGNLU [August 11]: Submit by July 15

Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights of RGNLU in collaboration with ICSSR is organizing a Seminar on New Dimensions and Challenges for Human Rights on August 11.

About RGNLU

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, to fulfill the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization.

About ICCSSR

The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) is an autonomous organisation that was established by the Government of India in the year 1969 with the objective to promote, review encouraging, assist, and coordinate social science research.
As a part of its Programme six Regional Centres were set up across the country to act as a representative of the ICSSR to provide information and implement the programmes and activities of the Council in the Region.

About the Center

The Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR) is a research Centre under the aegis of the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL). The Centre’s primary objective is to promote advanced study and interdisciplinary research on the emerging trends in human rights and its allied fields. It endeavors to encourage debates and discussions on the matters that gyrate around human rights at regional, national, and international levels so as to contribute paradigm shifts in the cognitive understanding of these issues.

Call for Papers

Papers are invited from the Academician, Researchers, Professionals, Practitioners, Human Rights Activists, students, and other stakeholders doing research and work on the below-mentioned sub-themes.

The theme of the Seminar

New Dimensions and Challenges for Human Rights.

Sub-Theme

The organizing Committee welcomes original papers, relating to the following themes. The sub-themes are not exhaustive but other topics can be also accommodated if it is related to human rights issues.

  • Human Rights and Democracy: Civil, Political, Economic, Social, and Cultural
  • Human Rights the Right to Development
  • Human Rights and Globalization
  • Human Rights and the Environment
  • Human Rights and Climate Change
  • Human Rights and War
  • Human Rights and Peace
  • Human Rights and Terrorism
  • Human Rights of Vulnerable Sections
  • Human Rights and Education
  • Human Rights and Poverty
  • Human Rights and New Scientific and Technological Developments

Submission Guidelines

  • The body of the document must be in Times New Roman with a font size of 12 and a Line Spacing of 1.5.
  • All the footnotes should be in Times New Roman, in Font Size 10, and with single line spacing.
  • The citations must conform to Bluebook (21st Edition) style.
  • Co-authorship is permissible up to a maximum of two authors.
  • Plagiarism should be less than 10% as per UGC norms.
  • All submissions are required to be mailed in .doc/.docx format only.
  • Once submitted, the paper goes through the review process.
  • All Submissions must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words.
