“Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar’s interactions with the great Periyar here in Tamil Nadu might have definitely reflected in some crucial pages of the primary law of the land that is the Constitution of India. The legacy of such luminaries spills over throughout the course of legal history made by this august High Court. It has a unique contribution in shaping the laws of our nation,” he said.
Justice Devanand also remembered his deceased parents, who had raised him to be the person that he is. He teared up while saying that while his parents were just school teachers from a remote village in Tamil Nadu, they instilled all of life’s lessons and values in him.
