Delhi Waqf Board recruitment case: Delhi High Court seeks Amanatullah Khan response to ACB plea challenging bail

A Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court had on September 28 granted bail to the legislator after he was arrested on September 16.

The ACB is investigating the alleged irregularities in the recruitment to the Delhi Waqf Board headed by Khan. As part of its probe, the ACB had carried out searches at the MLA’s house and other premises and reportedly seized ₹24 lakh besides two unlicensed weapons.

It has been alleged that 22 members of the Board were appointed from Khan’s constituency. The ACB has further argued that despite having an income of around ₹4 lakh, Khan had received cash to the tune of ₹4 crore, which warranted a thorough investigation.
