Government Law College, Kozhikode is organizing an International Seminar on International Commercial Arbitration (ICA), on March 15-16, 2022.

About the Organiser

This years international seminar on Commercial arbitration has been solely arranged by The Government Law College Kozhikode, an established law institution pioneering legal education in the malabar region.
The college envisions for the creation of legal education that would be at par with the dynamic laws of the world. The College with through its various moot programmes and seminars on constitutionalism aims at creating established legal graduates that would create ripples in future International litigation.

About the Seminar

The growth in international exchange of capital, goods, and services coupled with globalization and international trade has given way to alternative methods of resolving the disputes that arise from those exchanges. International Commercial Arbitration refers to one such method of dispute resolution that arises under international commercial contracts.

It is often used to avoid litigation. With an influx of foreign investments, overseas commercial transactions, and open-ended economic policies acting as a catalyst, international commercial disputes involving Indian parties are steadily raising. India has been an active player in the growing field of International Commercial Arbitration.

The seminar intends to realise the immense potential of developing trends in various domains of international commercial arbitration and it envisages facilitating discussions, arguments and
submissions on the surfacing sub themes that are relevant and appropriate to the main theme. The seminar strives for critical analysis and evaluation of the growing trends in commercial arbitration internationally that would determine tomorrow’s trade dispute resolution.

Who is it for?

Any interested Law student, researchers, legal professionals, faculties from Indian and foreign institutions can submit their paper.

Location

The International seminar is being held in the city of Kozhikode, Kerala.

Registration Procedure

Register for the semoinar through the link given at the end of this post, before 13th of march free of charges.

Note: Number of Participants for the Seminar are limited to 100.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Each applicant must submit a maximum 250-word abstract by e-mail to glckkozhikode2022@gmail.com on or before March 10th , 2022.
  • Abstract must contain details about the names of the author(s), contact details, institutional affiliation, and designation.
  • Maximum of 5 keywords are to be provided along with the abstract.
  • Co-authorship is permissible up to two authors only and the seminar is to be attended by both co-authors .
  • Acceptance of the abstracts shall be communicated via email on or before March 11th, 2022.

Submission Guidelines

  • Last date for submission of full paper is March 14th, 2022.
  • All papers must be submitted to mail id glckkozhikode2022@gmail.com
  • The full-length paper should not exceed 5000 words (exclusive of footnotes).
  • It should contain the abstract and details of the authors.
  • In case of co-authorship, both the co- authors must attend the seminar and present the paper.
  • The main text should be in Times New Roman with font size 12 and spacing of 1.5.
  • Footnoting: Please ensure that the footnotes are formatted correctly and consistently, in accordance with Harvard 20th Volume Blue Book Edition with Times New Roman font size 10.
  • Referencing style: Harvard 20th Blue Book Edition. Plagiarism: All submissions must be the author’s original and unpublished work.
  • Similarity Index should not exceed 13%. The paper must be submitted in word document (.doc or .docx) format only
